My life: The abridged version

Welcome to my new blog!

My husband and I met in 2006 when he came to visit me in Japan after getting to know each other online. We both took a huge leap of faith, and fortunately neither of us turned out to be a serial killer. We traveled around the country together and fell in love.

When my contract was over, I moved to Chicago to be with him and pursue my masters degree in teaching.

Fast forward to April 2012. We'd been married for over two years and decided it was time to start a family. I'm 28 and T is 45 years-old, so we would like to have kids before he gets too much older. I bought Taking Charge of Your Fertility and signed up for FertilityFriend.com so I could be as proactive as possible in making this happen.

At first we had some bad luck in terms of timing, since T was traveling a lot for business. We had to write off May, June, and August completely. It was frustrating, but I didn't feel too much pressure for it to happen right away. My charts showed that I was ovulating each cycle, so I figured it would happen once his travel settled down.

Now we're entering our tenth month of trying (seventh with reasonable timing), and I'm starting to get nervous. My luteal phase is usually 10 days, though last cycle it was only 9 with spotting starting at 7 DPO. While I know this might not be a problem, I can't help but start to wonder if there's something wrong. I guess only time will tell!
