About Rae

I grew up in Canada and moved to small-town Japan to teach English after university. By a weird twist of fate, I met my husband while I was there and moved to Chicago when my contract was up.

I returned to school to get my Masters of Education and elementary teaching certificate, and then continued later to get an endorsement in special education. I now teach first grade at a wonderful neighborhood public school.

My husband, whom I'll call T, works for for a large IT company. He does a bunch of things I barely understand, working with the company's clients, salespeople, and programmers. He turned 45 this year and we are itching to get our family started before he gets too much older.

During the school year I don't have much free time, but when I do I mostly spend it curled up watching T.V. with T and our fuzzy pup. When I have more time in the summers, I enjoy photography and traveling.
